April 24, 2010: New York Cares Day
Come join volunteers from New York Cares in a day of painting. 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
May 8 & 15, 2010: Butterfly Garden Planting Days
Volunteers are needed to help with planting, weeding & mulching in the Butterfly Garden. Be part of the transformation of this corner of the park! No experience necessary, tools provided, kids welcome. 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
May 15, 2010: It’s My Park Day
Come help out around the park! A variety of projects will be tackled this year, and Abilene on Court Street is offering one free drink to anyone who volunteers two hours of time in the park on this day. 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
June 5, 2010: The Annual Carroll Park Flea Market.
Sign up for a 10′ x 10′ space for only $30 (or $40 for a space along the fence) and market your crafts/art, promote your business, or sell off your old favorites. All proceeds benefit Carroll Park. The concert will begin at 4:00 p.m., shine only. We’ll have food and crafts from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., so come with pocket money for crafts and treats. All proceeds to benefit Friends of Carroll Park.

July 27, 2010: Carroll Park Blood Drive
“It takes all types” describes both Brooklyn and the New York Blood Center! Come support the graduates of our two-part Little Docs program as they don disposable scrubs and help run our neighborhood blood drive. Whether you’re solo or you rally your neighbors to join you, we hope you’ll give the gift of life when the Bloodmobile spends the day in Carroll Park! 3:00 – 9:00 p.m.
July 31, 2010: Electronics Recycling Event
Declare your independence from E-waste by disposing of your unwanted electronics at Smith Street between President and Union Streets, right off Carroll Park. The event will be held rain or shine and the following items are acceptable: Working and non-working computers, monitors, printers, scanners, keyboards, mice, cable, TVs, VCRs DVD players, phones, audio-visual equipment and PDAs. Hosted by Friends of Carroll Park and sponsored by Council Member Brad Lander. September 24, 2010: “Sleeping Beauty” presented by Central Park’s Swedish Cottage Marionettes
The mobile puppet stage comes to Carroll Park to present its take on the classic: “Beautiful Princess Aurora and friends come to life in this updated version of the fairytale classic reset in Central Park’s Belvedere Castle.” [Recommended for ages 3 to 8] 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
